Bring your dancing shoes and get ready for a night of authentic swing jazz with Queen Bee and the Honeylovers. This powerhouse dance band blends classic swing, blues, and Latin rhythms into a vocal-driven sound with an irresistible groove, perfect for the social dance floor.
Voted Best in Jazz in the Mountain Xpress “Best Of” poll every year since 2019, the Honeylovers are known for music that’s joyful, polished, and deeply rooted in swing tradition. Their acclaimed debut album Asheville put them on the regional map, and their high-energy performances keep dancers smiling and moving all night long.
Expect toe-tapping tempos, warm vocals, and a band that knows how to play for dancers. If you love swing jazz that feels alive, communal, and impossible to sit still to, this is your night.
Come to our dance party to learn about the music and dance of the swing era. It is going to be a night of fantastic music that you aren't going to want to miss!
Beginner Lesson starts at 7PM, this in included with admission. If you’ve never danced before, start with this complimentary introductory lesson from 7-8PM. You’ll learn some history of the dance, basic footwork and rhythm, and current Swing dance culture so you can dance all night and make new friends. This is a great choice if this is your first Swing dance or if you've only danced Lindy Hop a few times prior.
Beyond the Basics Lesson starts at 6:45PM and is an additional $5. The lesson will take place at the Carrboro Civic Club -- 108 Bim St, Carrboro, NC 27510. There are going to be limited spots so sign up early. This is a great level for someone who has take the beginner lesson a few times and feels ready for some new content.
Music and dancing will kick off at 8PM with a pretty amazing lineup of some of our most popular DJs.
