About the Event:

Led by drummer, vocalist, and international swing dancer Jon Tigert, the Baltimore-based Corner Pocket Jazz Band brings the classic swinging sounds of the 1930s and '40s straight from the Lindy Hop songbook. Rounded out by some of the best guest artists around, this band plays music made by swing dancers, for swing dancers — celebrating the looser, more casual swing style of the era that fills dance floors with energy.

Their enthusiastic vibe and joyful sound have earned them a reputation as an awesome, local swing band that will have everyone dancing. Whether you're a seasoned Lindy Hopper or new to the dance floor, Corner Pocket Jazz Band delivers an authentic, high-energy set that captures the spirit of the golden age of swing.

It is going to be a night of fantastic music that you aren't going to want to miss!

Beyond the Basics Lesson starts at 6:45PM and is an additional $5. The lesson will take place at the Carrboro Civic Club -- 108 Bim St, Carrboro, NC 27510. There are going to be limited spots so sign up early. This is a great level for someone who has take the beginner lesson a few times and feels ready for some new content.

Parking: Good news! The parking deck at the Drakeford Library Complex is open with 171 spaces.

Learn and Dance:

7pm - 8pm - Introductory Lesson at the Carborro Century Center – no partner or experience required.
6:45pm - 7:45pm - Beyond the Basics Lesson, $5 (108 Bim St, Carrboro, NC 27510)
8pm - 11pm - Open dance floor with live music at the Carborro Century Center

$20 non-members/$16 members (in advance)
