Russ Wilson always knows how to play the music dancers want to dance to. Along with Paul Cosentino on Sax & Clarinet, George Knott on Bass and Austin Johnson on Piano he will keep the floor filled all night!
LESSONS
COMPLIMENTARY INTRO LESSON with Daniel McClain and Jan Woraratanadharm- No RSVP required. It comes with your event ticket and is open to all.
If you’ve never danced before, start with this complimentary introductory lesson from 7-8PM. You’ll learn some history of the dance, basic footwork and rhythm, and current Swing dance culture so you can dance all night and make new friends. This is a great choice if this is your first Swing dance or if you've only danced Lindy Hop a few times prior.
NEW! INTERMEDIATE LESSON with LIMITED SPOTS - $5 add-on
We're launching a new option of a ticketed non-beginner level lesson from 7-8PM!
Jackie and Joel Plys, international Swing dance instructors and owners of Retro Rhythm, will teach a 1-hour add-on lesson for more experienced dancers to enhance their skills before the live band.
This month's lesson will focus on Sugar Pushes - master this foundation figure plus learn styling & variations. Classically a 6-count move, but does it have to be?!? Join in the fun & increase your Sugar Push prowess
This class will be held at the same time as the Intro lesson from 7PM-8PM in a different room at Murphy School.
Please note: The class is limited due to venue capacity. You must register with a dance-role choice for the class to keep the room balanced. This is a brand new program that is in beta-testing and will only be offered at Murphey School location dances right now.
